Hi my name is Dave.

I just wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. I started learnbasicphotography.com and subsequently theses forums to get information about photography out to those who looking to learn about our craft. I had a couple of friends ask me to teach them how to take photos with their new DSLR’s. I figured if they needed training, others would benefit from the same. Since I had just setup two websites for my wife http://MyDVDObsession.com/ and http://VeganToo.com/ (I know shameless plugs), I decided to teach my friends using the web. If they forgot something I had told them they could just go online and refresh their memories. I’m just going to stop here and say Welcome!

Hi my name is Welly,

My husband and I purchased our first D-SLR camera yesterday - a Nikon D3000. Not really got any idea how it works - we have managed to charge it and put a memory card in it and even get some pictures taken though!

I have a little compact digital camera but we wanted to be able to do things together.

Looks like this site will be very useful.
